"Finland has an exotic media image as a land of silent people, wild nature and new technology. Contemporary Finns pose in the nature with the hi-tech equipment, they are engaged to their own group, cameras and computers while the nature challenges them with the cold weather. They do not watch at a stream of water, they watch at stream of images. For them the world looks more magic through the lenses of cameras. New technology is a part of the trip to the nature. Addiction to the cameras, iPods and laptops is present all the time. There is no experience for this group of people or they are not present if they are not connected to equipment. They record moments of connection. Only documented moments are remembered. There is still something that remains the same as in ancient times. They do not chat. Silence is gold. Posing becomes a language of communication."
